MOVING THE FB MEME TO LJ

Rules:
* Grab the book closest to you. Now.
* Go to page 56.
* Find the 5th sentence.
* Write that sentence as your status in an entry.
* Copy these instructions as a comment to your status into the entry.
* Don't go looking for your favorite book, or the coolest one you have -- just grab the closest one

"I hated that I felt suddenly unsure about this."

Man I kind of wish that sentence were longer. Anyway, everyone who wants to, play along! And maybe guess where that sentence is from?

I only have one book with me right now, so :D

"'A king of this stamp should correct his own sloth or arrogance, because these are the vices that cause people to hate or despise him.'"

(It weirds me out that there are Facebook memes that involve statuses and such. Ah, the evolution of Facebook..)

Yeah I was weirded out, too. It was the first FB-status meme I've seen thus far.

My OCD is totally urging me to do this with every damn book I have.

BUT WHAT IF THE BOOK I GRABBED DIDN'T EVEN HAVE 56 PAGES

Answer: all hell will break loose.

I want to do that too. It sounds like it would be fun but I have enough things to distract me from my research paper as it is. *sigh* -_-;;

Um, you're reading New Moon, aren't you?

I knew you'd get it. Anyway I finished it, didn't you get any of my texts regarding it?

I haven't started Eclipse, though. I've discovered I'm very bad at setting aside time for reading and instead I just read from cover to cover in one sitting. Not good for school.

Yeah, didn't take much. You hardly read for class, unless it's dire. And you hardly read period, so I knew it had to be a good I lent you =P

I only got one text, about "how we can only wonder..." I've gotten too lazy to respond to texts. Sigh.

How'd you like New Moon? aka What do you think of the character, Jacob? I'm curious...

LOL I like your icon.

New Moon was.. ehhhh. At the risk of being mauled by Emiliza, I don't particularly enjoy the Twilight series. I think I don't like Bella, and also Stephanie Meyer's writing doesn't really appeal to me. I still read them, though, because I do like the concept of Vampire Love. Also Werewolf love. But New Moon was a big bag of emo and I did not like it too much.

Jacob! I liked him already in the first book. He seems super sweet, much nicer than Edward, but at the same time I feel like his character doesn't have as much appeal as Edward's. Like, Edward has this whole inner conflict where he has to stop himself from killing Bella, and the outer conflict is to stop other vamps from killing Bella. Jacob, however, just really needs to control his temper, and he's so nice already... plus his relationship with Bella feels so reboundy to me that it's like ugh, PLEASE Jacob you can do better.

I am also not really a fan of the I-will-lie-in-wait-as-your-friend-in-hopes-that-one-day-you-will-realize-you-and-I-belong-together kind of guy. Although Jacob is not quite as creepy as that makes him sound.

I wouldn't maul you, even if I could, sis. sheesh.

I agree about New Moon being a big bag of emo... and a big bag of trying to woo a taken women as she is mourning. Ah.. yes.

Any way, the writing is a bit sucky, for lack of a better word. Kind of like JK Rowling. Still a good read, but too easily written for kids to understand.

Hehehe, but vampire love is awesome.

I am more than a little shocked that you agree, thought you considered these books like gospel, lol. But I am glad. +)

Do you want to watch Twilight again? With meeeeeeeee? Or, you know... beat Andrew up?

heh, thanks (:

It definitely IS a big bag of emo. I think I read it back during senior year when I was a big bag of emo... so I could sort of related to Bella in that book. I like Edward in the first book. I like Jacob in the second book but I didn't either one in the third book and I especially wanted to smack some sense into Bella in the that book. She was especially whiny.

I think Jacob can do better than Bella and I agree, their relationship is VERY reboundy. :\ I like that he seems to understand her in a way that Edward doesn't and he doesn't need to read the minds of all of her friends to figure out what she wants. There's something really intimate and sweet about their relationship.

I also don't think Jacob is a girlfriend stealing type of guy. He didn't try and "steal" Bella from Edward in the first book, even though he dislike the guy. It was after Edward up and left Bella, sending her into zombie-state that Jacob "gave it a go". He knows he could never be Edward but he believes he can make her happy.

LOL, ok... well, that's my 2 cents on the Twilight series. *sigh* Now I should really finish my stupid research paper for socio. It's due tomorrow afternoon. -_- *finds all kinds of excuse to procrastinate* =D

Hope your paper went well! I have a project due tomorrow and so you and I appear to have switched places because I'm looking for reasons to procrastinate now. =P

Argghhhhh if Bella's really extra whiny I'm not too sure I want to read the third book. Talk about yuck. There's a fourth one out, too, right? I think Em kept that one.

ANYWAY I agree that Jacob is super sweet. He just seems so in tune with her needs (and there are apparently MANY), and I didn't even notice that he didn't really have to read her friends' minds... but that was probably because she didn't really have any friends at the time. But yes, Jacob isn't really trying to steal her, he knows that she's all obsessed with the vampire. But that's kind of why I hate them both a little, because he's like super loyal to her and she's like super clinging to him as her only hope, and both sort of take advantage of each other. Not that their friendship isn't a friendship, but I think that the needy aspect really bothers me a lot.

OKAY I THINK WE ARE OVERANALYZING THIS and I still need to read the third book! Gahhhhhh must read soon....
